Description
Head on down to the beach to the Cove Cafe, Hayle, the perfect location to forage for edible coastal plants and wild food. The course is fun and informative and run by the hugely knowledgeable Emma, Creator and owner of “Never mind the Burdocks”. (we love the name!!)
After the foraging session, you will be welcomed back to the Cove Cafe for a delicious lunch and refreshments. What Emma doesn’t know about foraging isn’t worth knowing, this unique, highly informative and great day out is sure to kick start any budding wild food lover.

Welcome talk, orientation and safety briefing
During this session we will cover the aim of the course, toilet facilities, course area and safety briefing. Don’t forget to wear suitable clothing and footwear and always bring a waterproof ready for the changeable Cornish weather!!
Foraging around The Beach
Located in an ideal environment for a coastal foraging course in Cornwall, your group will be taken on a foraging excursion around the sand dunes and beach where you will explore many different environments – including hedgerow, beach, sand dunes and coast. You will learn about the whole wild food larder dealing with herbs, roots, shoots, berries, flowers, nuts and fungus. At the end of the foraging course, you should be able to easily identify lots of edible plants that you will be able to forage in your own time.
Lunch
You will then be welcomed into the Cove Cafe to enjoy a delicious lunch. You will also have the chance to ask Emma any further questions you have about wild food and coastal foraging.
